Perth and surrounds.

After our quick stay at Mandurah it was onto Perth to both check out the city and get some maintenance done on the car and caravan.
Our first week in town we stayed at Karinyup Waters Resort, this place as fantastic for both location and facility's, the kids even got to check out the pool which was a bonus. Unfortunately the weather was not so good during this week with plenty of rain and one night we had quite a storm pass through which meant having to get up and put the awning away. Whilst here we got the car registration inspection done, visited some old friends to catch up and took some drives in the afternoon around the Northern Perth suburbs, evening enjoying time in a Westfield.

Our second week was a bonus as a friend from aulro.com had offered the use of his house just near Fremantle, we cannot thank Ian enough for his generosity and hope to repay him in the future. Whilst here we went for a lunch with some other forumites we know and then it was down to business with the car and van. There were a couple of ball joints showing signs of wear so using the excellent services of Lifestyle4x4 these items were fixed up, back at the house I did a full oil change and greasing on the car, Caravan bearings were serviced and this gave us just a couple of days to check out Fremantle and Perth City centres.

A visit to the Perth Mint was a highlight, along with the $50million gold coin and seeing a gold bar being poured was very interesting and the kids enjoyed the experience.

For me a visit to Little Creatures Brewery and The Sail & Anchor Pub in Fremantle was a highlight and I dare say the kids enjoyed them both too with the tasty food consumed.

We have to give a quick thumbs up to Coromal our caravan manufacturer, despite us being the second owner of this van they replaced the front boot lid free under warranty, if looking for a van consider Coromal ahead of the others.

Unfortunately we did not get to Rottnest Island as the weather was pretty average for the whole time in Perth but that just gives us something to see next time. We now head North looking for some sun so until then...
